Learn more about our women's health services
Family planning services at the clinic covers a variety of offerings, including preparing for pregnancy, providing information about contraception, discussing pregnancy options including early abortion and offering STI testing.
One of the key services offered by the providers at Healthy Haven Family Clinic is IUD insertion and removal. An IUD, or intrauterine device, is an effective contraceptive method that offers long-term protection and is reversible. The procedure for IUD insertion is straightforward, involving the insertion of the IUD through the cervix. After the procedure, patients are advised to stay in the clinic for a period of observation. We also provide IUD removal services, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for patients.
Implanon insertion and removal is another service offered by the clinic. Implanon is a small plastic rod that is inserted under the skin to slowly release progestogen, providing a 99.9% effectiveness rate as a birth control method for up to three years. It is simply done by inserting the small implant under the skin on the inside of the arm. Implanon removals are also available.
GP’s consulting in our rooms have additional training in antenatal shared care (pregnancy care). This is ideal for low-risk pregnancies and involves seeing your usual GP for pregnancy checks with some visits at the hospital with your midwife or obstetrician. After your baby is delivered, your GP can also provide postnatal care for you and your newborn baby.
Navigating menopause can be a challenging time for women and we provide menopause management and support services to assist women during this stage of life. GP’s can assist with treating and managing the typical symptoms of menopause, including irregular periods and hot flushes, arranging tests as necessary. For women experiencing severe symptoms, doctors can refer patients to specialists as required. GP's with a special interest in menopause, can help.
